How Porn Influences Your Relationship?

Just admit it, there is a pretty nice chance your guy is addicted to porn watching.

But what influence does it have on your relationship? Feminists have argued for years that guys learn from pornography to look at girls as at sex objects and to ruin the act of having intercourse. But have you ever thought porn provides physical and mental side effects that can be harmful for your relationship? In fact, just today, there was a man who complained to his doctor about splitting headaches when he watched porn films. That case may be a little extreme, but anyway…

20 thousands of people took part in a recent study provided by TED.com, showing that pornography is the most cited reason for prevailing romantic relationships between guys and girls in their teens and 20s. Girls admit that guys are emotionally greedy, and guys tell porn influences their desire to pursue a relationship. That’s the conclusion the author of The Neutering of the American Male, Jim Wysong did.

Guys start watching porn when their interest isn’t being appreciated in a relationship. Okay, girls. As long as guys have been playing it off like its girls who are needy in relationships, their fault as big as they just go on the Internet to get their desires pleased. Wysong notifies, we all need to feel important, to be accepted and loved, but those things are obstacles for some guys to build fulfilling relationships. “Emotional intimacy gives birth to sexual intimacy. It’s a pity, but people don’t build a fulfilling relationship, so their sexual interest gets lost.”

As boys tend to be more physical and visual, they use porn to meet their brief-term needs. It often turns into a cycle and can bring to porn addiction and emotional detachment a in relationship. Wysong says that porn addiction prevents people from reaching the loving and balanced relationship that could meet their emotional needs.

To prove this thought, a Canadian study displayed that one-third of teens there are nasty porn watchers, and an Italian study showed that a huge number of guys there suffer from sexual anorexia and impotence in their 20s, while they spent their teen years for watching porn and nowadays their expectations don’t meet acceptance.

We don’t suggest girls to become James Bonds and start spying on their boyfriends’ browsing histories and calling them porn addicts. But if you have noticed your guys’ behavior has changed, approach them about it. As for the parents, it’s the very time for them to step out of the side and think over the facts. Your children will find out what sex is one way or another, so why not to provide them with real facts and information before they see it in porn?
